The Grand Hotel is a venue with comfy rooms, bars, a great restaurant and pokies gaming, it’s situated in Whangarei and close to the local bus station. The hotel is the only great hotel in the region and once hosted Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, it’s rated very highly by the Queen on Tripadvisor :)

Poroti Tavern is a popular country pub a few kilometres away from Whangarei in New Zealand providing great pokies gaming, a TAB, beer and food options. It is a historical, family-owned pub that burnt down in 1950 but was rebuilt and refurbished to what it is today. A top spot in the countryside for some beers, wines and food.
