About the Mangere Bridge Tavern

In the 1980’s the pub was purchased by a Maori former player of the New Zealand national rugby team the All Blacks Pat Walsh. Along with his wife Noelene, Walsh made an effort to transform the pub. Later in the 1990’s, he was joined by his son Mark Walsh, in running the pub.

At present the pub is owned by Mark Walsh, who is assisted by the general manager and a staff of eighteen dedicated people. Due to efforts of the Walsh family and others, the pub is one of the landmarks for tourists and other visitors in the Mangere area of Auckland.

The pub is located at 123, Coronation Road in the Mangere area of Auckland. Hocken place is the major landmark, and it a few minutes drive from Auckland Airport. Mountain road, Koru Road and Kamaka roads are some of the roads in the area. The pub opens at 9 am from Monday to Saturday, though it closes early at 9 pm on Monday, 10 pm on Tuesday, 11 pm on Wednesday and late on Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Times may vary depending on what’s happening at the tavern.

On Sunday the pub opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm. The pub can be reached using buses also, it is located close to the bus stop in the area, and a number of buses are halting at the bus stop. The pub has a parking lot where customers can park their vehicle.
